OVERVIEW
What CAIPP covers
CAIPP is GAICC’s credential for project professionals who need two capabilities at once: using AI to plan, estimate, schedule, control and lead any project, and scoping, delivering and governing AI and machine-learning projects themselves. The blueprint is 50/50. Days 1–2 and Domains 1–4 are AI for project managers. Days 3–4 and Domains 5–8 are managing AI/ML projects.
The examination is 100 multiple-choice questions in two hours, closed book, online AI-proctored, with a 70% pass mark. Completing the self-paced course package meets the 32 hours GAICC require before you sit that exam.
WHO IT IS FOR
Who should take this certification
Built for people who already deliver projects and now need AI fluency — not only for specialists who already build models.
Project managers, programme managers and project directors across sectors
Scrum Masters, Product Owners, delivery leads and agile practitioners
PMO leads, portfolio managers and project-governance professionals
Business analysts, change managers and transformation leads working on AI initiatives
Technical and delivery leads managing AI, data or automation initiatives

OUTCOMES
What you will be able to do
By the end of the course you should be able to use AI in delivery and to govern AI/ML projects — not only describe a tool.
- Distinguish AI, machine learning and generative AI in practical terms, and separate defensible project use cases from hype
- Apply AI to planning, estimation and scheduling, and validate AI-generated plans with professional judgement
- Use AI to monitor, control and report on projects while remaining accountable for the integrity of the numbers
- Strengthen stakeholder engagement, communication and team leadership with AI, used ethically and transparently
- Shape and business-case AI/ML initiatives, accounting for data dependency, uncertainty and ethical viability
- Coordinate the AI/ML delivery lifecycle — data, model development, deployment and monitoring — across specialist teams
- Tailor predictive, agile and hybrid approaches to experimental, data-driven work
- Apply AI governance, ethics, risk and compliance requirements (ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act) within delivery
- Drive benefits realisation, adoption and change for AI investments, and help shape the AI-era PMO

FAQ
FAQ
What is the GAICC CAIPP certification?
CAIPP — Certified AI Project Professional — is GAICC’s vendor-neutral credential for project professionals. Half the blueprint is using AI to plan, deliver, control and lead any project. The other half is scoping, delivering and governing AI and machine-learning projects themselves.
Who is this training for in Malaysia?
Project, programme and PMO professionals, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, business analysts, change and transformation leads, and sponsors who need to use AI in delivery or to manage AI/ML initiatives.
What are the eligibility requirements?
Completion of at least 32 hours of structured GAICC CAIPP training delivered by GAICC-authorised providers or equivalent recognised institutions. Completing GAICC self-paced courses also meets this requirement. Professional experience is recommended, not required.
How is the programme structured?
Four days and 32 CPD hours, with eight modules mapped one-to-one to the eight examination domains. Days 1–2 (Domains 1–4, 50%) cover AI for project managers. Days 3–4 (Domains 5–8, 50%) cover managing AI/ML projects. Each day is two modules.
How is the exam set?
One hundred multiple-choice questions, single best answer, in two hours on the GAICC online AI-proctored platform. The exam is closed book. The pass mark is 70%, set by modified-Angoff standard setting.
How long is the certification valid, and how do I renew it?
The credential is valid for two years. Renewal requires 16 CPD credits over 24 months, with at least 6 in AI governance, ethics or risk, then a renewal application.
How many CPD hours will I earn?
You receive 32 CPD/PDU hours on completion of the CAIPP course. Renewal of the credential later requires 16 CPD hours per two-year cycle, with at least 6 in AI governance, ethics or risk.
What happens if I do not pass the exam?
GAICC members receive one exam voucher per certification. A further attempt after an unsuccessful first sitting requires the applicable exam fee.
What is the difference between the two packages?
The self-paced course package includes the full video course and everything needed to prepare from scratch. The membership and exam package is for candidates who have already completed the CAIPP programme and only need the examination, membership and supporting resources.
Can I buy the exam package if I have not done the training?
No. Thirty-two hours of structured GAICC CAIPP training are required before you can sit the examination. If you have not completed it, choose the self-paced course package.
Is the GAICC certification programme CPD accredited?
The GAICC certification programme is CPD accredited.
Can I enrol a team?
