OVERVIEW
PSM I is Scrum.org's entry-level Scrum Master credential. It assesses whether you understand the Scrum framework as the Scrum Guide defines it, and whether you can apply it to the situations a Scrum Master actually meets — not whether you can recite a glossary.
The assessment is 80 questions in 60 minutes, and you need 85% to pass. That is the detail worth sitting with: 45 seconds a question, and twelve wrong answers is the most the pass mark allows. Scrum.org set no prerequisite, so anyone may buy the assessment and sit it. Their own wording is that while attendance is not a prerequisite, attending a course is strongly recommended.
ProCert is a member of the Scrum.org Professional Training Network™. Official Scrum.org training is delivered with licensed Professional Scrum Trainers. Scrum.org set the questions, mark the attempt and award the credential.
The assessment is taken online through your Scrum.org account. The specification and the fee are Scrum.org's and can change — read the current figures there before you book.

PREREQUISITES
Nothing. Scrum.org set no prerequisite for PSM I — no degree, no documented experience and no prior certification. Anyone may buy the assessment and sit it. What the 85% pass mark asks for is preparation, which is a different question from eligibility.
Each assessment password is valid for one attempt and has no expiry date, so you choose when to sit it.

Participants of official Scrum.org live instructor-led PSM training classes who attempt the PSM I assessment within 14 days of receiving their free password and do not score at least 85% will be granted a 2nd attempt at no additional cost.

Yes. Global Master is a registered HRD Corp training provider and this programme is claimable under SBL-Khas. Your HR team applies through eTRiS before the programme starts, and HRD Corp disburses to us directly. Employer eligibility, approval and timing remain subject to current HRD Corp rules.
PSM I assesses Scrum specifically and asks for no documented experience, so it is the closer fit if your teams only run Scrum. PMI-ACP spans Scrum, Kanban, Lean and XP and requires experience you can evidence. If your teams run a mix, or you want a PMI credential alongside a PMP, PMI-ACP is the one.
