What CAILCP covers
CAILCP is GAICC’s practitioner credential for legal and compliance professionals — laws for AI, and AI for lawyers. Mandatory pre-course self-study is followed by two teaching days: multi-jurisdictional regulation, technical-legal risk, liability, policy drafting, incident response and using AI in legal practice.
The examination is 60 scenario-based questions in 90 minutes, online AI-proctored, with a 70% pass mark. Completing the self-paced course package meets the 24–26 contact hours GAICC require before you sit that exam.

What is the GAICC CAILCP certification?
CAILCP — Certified AI Law & Compliance Professional — is GAICC’s practitioner credential for legal and compliance professionals. It covers AI law, multi-jurisdictional regulation, technical-legal risk, liability, policy drafting, and using AI in legal practice.
Who is this training for in Malaysia?
Lawyers, compliance and GRC professionals, data protection officers, in-house counsel, risk managers, internal auditors, and policy advisors whose work now includes AI systems.
What are the eligibility requirements?
Completion of at least 24–26 contact hours of structured GAICC-CAILCP training delivered by GAICC-authorised providers or equivalent recognised institutions. Completing GAICC self-paced courses also meets this requirement. A bachelor’s degree plus three years’ relevant experience, or a secondary qualification plus five years, is recommended, not required.
How is the programme structured?
Mandatory pre-course self-study (8–10 hours), then Day 1 (8 hours) on laws for AI and Day 2 (8 hours) on AI for lawyers. Twelve modules plus two pre-course modules. Total learning is 24–26 hours.
How is the exam set?
Sixty scenario-based multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes on the GAICC online AI-proctored platform. The pass mark is 70%. There is no negative marking.
How is this different from GAICC ISO/IEC 42001 certifications?
CAILCP is built for legal and compliance professionals: AI law, multi-jurisdictional regulation, liability, and practical legal AI skills. The ISO/IEC 42001 certifications focus on implementing and auditing AI management systems. They are complementary.
How long is the certification valid, and how do I renew it?
The credential is valid for three years. Renewal requires 60 CPD hours in that cycle (20 professional learning, 20 practical application, 10 contribution and knowledge sharing, 10 elective), then a renewal application.
How many CPD hours will I earn?
You receive 16 CPD/PDU hours on completion of the CAILCP course. Renewal of the credential later requires 60 CPD hours per cycle.
What happens if I do not pass the exam?
GAICC members receive one exam voucher per certification. A further attempt after an unsuccessful first sitting requires the applicable exam fee.
What is the difference between the two packages?
The self-paced course package includes the full video course and everything needed to prepare from scratch. The membership and exam package is for candidates who have already completed the CAILCP programme and only need the examination, membership and supporting resources.
Can I buy the exam package if I have not done the training?
No. Twenty-four to twenty-six contact hours of structured GAICC-CAILCP training are required before you can sit the examination. If you have not completed it, choose the self-paced course package.
Is the GAICC certification programme CPD accredited?
The GAICC certification programme is CPD accredited.
